Visit to Rotary Club of Church Wilne 10th October
Accompanied by Rtn Mervyn Wheen we visited the Church Wilne Club. Mervyn grew up in this area and had not been back for many years so the journey brought back fond memories. There was a very good turn-out by the club and President Spephen was very complimentary about their visit to conference.

Last Night of the Proms concert Saturday 8th October
Organised jointly by the Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Keyworth and Ruddington. We had a great evening of entertainment with the Band of the Royal Yeomanry. President Grenville is a member of the TA and had organised this event. The Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Astbury attended the concert. A superb buffet was provided by Inner Wheel.

Sutton in Ashfield 81st Charter Tuesday 4th October
This was held at the popular Hostess Restaurant. Lorraine and I attended with driver Rtn. David Hood. The guest speaker was Colin Hazelden from BBC TV East Midlands. Because of the upheaval at Nottingham Forest FC he was unable to leave the TV station until 8.00pm. so just made it in time for his presentation.
President Terry was much relieved to see him arrive.

District Conference 30th September to 2nd October
From when we arrived in Scarborough on Wednesday the sun was shining and continued to do so until the conference ended on Sunday lunchtime. It must be classed as the warmest and sunniest conference we have ever had. I did promise I would organise the weather.
We were fortunate to have excellent representatives from both RI and RIBI and many inspirational speakers.
Added to this the excellent entertainment making this yet another wonderful conference for District 1220.
The Presidents Reception on Saturday evening was extremely well attended and for the first time that I can remember everyone was outside on the balcony.
Photos are still being sent to us from various people so more pictures will follow.
