Wirksworth Ladies Coffee Morning Saturday 15th October

This was held at the home of Joint President Mike Tomlinson and Dianne and was well attended.  It was nice to sit and do nothing, just socialise.

Hucknall Charter Friday 14th October

Lorraine and I attended the Hucknall Charter at The Hostess Restaurant. It brought back memories for me because PDG Brian Darlinson  from the Hucknall Club was my District Governor when I was President of the Wirksworth Club.

My own Club Meeting Thursday 13th October

Went to my own club meeting.  This is the second week in a row that I have been able to get there.  The Speaker explained about the Wirksworth Festival.

Visit to the Rotary Club of West Bridgford Wednesday 12th October

This time I was taken by Rtn Martin Cruttenden.  On arrival I discovered I had left the computer memory stick at home.  This was due to having a power cut in the afternoon which disrupted my routine.  President Geoff and the members simply looked at me during my presentation instead of the screen.

On arrival home at 10.00a.m. the power was still off and found Lorraine sitting in the dark with a candle for company.  The power eventually came on 23 hours later (the following afternoon)

Guest at Overseas Meeting Inner Wheel Club of Alfreton

Nothing to do at this meeting, just turned up and eat lunch, and listened to the speaker.  The speaker was from the Rotary Club of Amber Valley.

Joint Visit to the Rotary Clubs of Amber Valley, Alfreton and Ripley, Tuesday 11th October

An excellent turn-out from all clubs for this large gathering.  The meeting was conducted by Amber Valley President Alan and supported Alfreton President Terry and Ripley President Owen.  It was nice to give a presentation to such a large group and there was certainly a lot of fun and friendship shared amongst the clubs.

Visit to the Rotary Club of Long Eaton Dawnbreakers Tuesday 11th October

Another early start for Lorraine and me.  The big disappointment was that Dawnbreakers were still on their 'summer menu' for breakfast which meant a teacake instead of bacon sandwiches. Acting President Linda and all the members very extremely welcoming.  Sharing the Presidency this year with four other members seems to be working well.  They are in good spirits with much activity both socially and serving the community.
